Favre will face Packers in purple Vikings jersey and some pink equipment
Next week, when the Minnesota Vikings play against the Green Bay Packers, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre, who was a former Packer, will be wearing purple Vikings jersey and a little bit of pink and facing his old team for the first time since he signed with the Vikings this season.
The game is to be held on Monday night at the Metrodome, and Favre is one the four Vikings players who will use pink equipment in order to honor breast cancer. The other three are Chad Greenway, Chester Taylor and Antoine Winfield. And there is one particular reason for Favre to be one of the four: his wife, Deanna, is a breast cancer survivor.
The “little bit of pink” includes pink cleats, wristbands, gloves, sideline hats and captain patches among other items, and the designated players will be wearing them during every game in the Octorber.
